In 1850 Victoria Dock opened as a shipping dock, during this time it was the
centre of the timber trade boasting a total water area of over 25 acres. Today,
Victoria Dock has in many instances been used as a model for other dockside projects,
becoming one of the most important developments of recent years in Hull and the
region.
Victoria Dock is situated just one mile from the centre of Hull; this is an ideal
location for families and executives needing easy access to the commercial areas
of Hull and beyond. For families there are excellent shopping amenities within
Victoria Dock Village. These consist of a medical centre, pharmacy, grocer, newsagent,
numerous pubs and restaurants and a local park. All the major high street stores
can also be found conveniently close in the city centre.
